Meet Alison

Alison Grinter brings a wealth of criminal justice knowledge and experience to her work in criminal defense. For seven years, Alison worked in association with probation and parole departments across the country with a service provider of electronic monitoring, promoting and implementing innovative solutions for community corrections. Understanding the need for prison reform, an end to overcrowding, and alternatives to incarceration, Alison took the mission of community-based corrections to heart, learning as much as she could about rehabilitative programs, diversion courts, and other constructive punishment programs. She is published in the Journal of Offender Monitoring.

In law school, Alison Grinter argued cases and defended more than fifty indigent misdemeanor defendants as a member (and later Chief Justice) of the SMU Criminal Justice Clinic. She was also President of the Association for Public Interest Law and a driving force behind the campaign for loan repayment assistance for attorneys working in the public interest.

As a practicing attorney and partner of Grinter Goode, Alison focuses on criminal defense and brings to her efforts a seasoned knowledge of the criminal justice system, a great reputation and rapport with the judges, district attorneys, and clerks of the Dallas County criminal courts, and a fierce devotion to the interests and rights of her clients.
